At the beginning of the second half of the 1500's various musicians from Orte became part of the Sistine Chapel. Among these musicians were a cornet player, the soprano Vincenzo, who was later director of music in Orte for many years and also a descendant of the Alberti family, Ottaviano. Ottaviano Alberti was a bass singer of great talent who at the end of his career performed in the Duke of Baviera's chapel conducted by Orlando di Lasso. In the second volume of Fabbrica Ortana, page 322 onwards, Lando Leoncini, referring to a banquet given in Rome where, among the many well-known guests, was the renowned Joanni Bernardino Capitano from Orte, so describes Ottaviano Alberti: "tirava innanzi il detto appresso l'illustrissimo Sig.
